The client of this project was the same as the owner of my previous Burj Khalifa project. I was honored by the client›s trust and faith in my abilities. The brief was to design this apartment for them to stay in and for his son to use in the future. The client wanted a modern yet comfortable interior for this recently completed building.
Of course, the first thing you notice when you enter the apartment is the breathtaking view of the Dubai Fountains. So I wanted to bring that luxurious, yet young and modern vibe into the design and highlight the cool urban lifestyle Downtown offers.
As the apartment wasn›t very spacious, I decided to work more with the walls. We incorporated wooden cladding, wall paneling, feature lighting, wallpaper. It made the overall look very luxurious and elevated. We also fixed all the storage furniture (TV unit, dressers, desks, nightstands) on the wall to keep the flowing light and airy.
I couldn›t find the perfect art for the living/dining space that would complement the furniture and decore but won›t steal all the attention. So I painted it myself.
The master bedroom was kept in a very neutral, calming color scheme, whereas the second bedroom has more contrast and color to make it a little fun for the client›s teenage son. The empty space above the bed was asking for something but not regular art, so I decided to experiment with the Flos String light and add some interest.
Thankfully the client and his family were very happy with the result. It made our business relationships even stronger, as he saw that I put my heart into the work. The clients› positive feedback and trust is the best reward for my work.
