The Process

Our process is initiated by studying the client’s needs and ideas about their preferred interior design, upon our client’s choice we design and start creating the project’s specified mood boards that will then develop the process efficiently, following that, we start space-planning depending on the existing space stated by our client, going then through the furniture layout to finalize the designs in and let it settle within, after that our clients’ approval would be the only remainder.

Once approved, we start rolling out the 3D visuals and demo models of how the design will look, our trained team will then concise a technical drawing and get on the execution of the design.

On the other hand, If the client already has a design at their disposal, we can jump right to the execution of the design. The Process at LEILA KHALIL DESIGN consists of stages: Design, Execution. Furnishing and Styling, Handover. Our company follows a comprehensive and detailed process to ensure that every project is executed to the highest standard possible. Here is a breakdown of our process, which includes various stages and areas of specialty:

The Process - Design Phase

01 BRIEFING

The client questionnaire and brief are completed to gain a clear understanding of the client's needs and preferences. - An initial lookbook presentation is provided to showcase potential design concepts. - A site survey of the property is conducted to assess the space. - Estimated FF&E budgets are provided to the client. - A project program and brief document are created.

02 CONCEPT

0ur team develops a number of various styles and directions for each individual project. The most suitable concept is selected and visualized for a client to review. - Floor plans, contractor recommendation, interior conceptual images, preliminary estimation - Cost estimate review

03 DESIGN DEVELOEPMENT

Technical drawing packages are created. A finishes and materials board is developed. Finishes and equipment are sourced. Bespoke items are designed and developed. Workshops and sampling are conducted. Design drawings are signed off. A design development document is created.

The Process - Construction Phase

01 BILL OF QUANTATIES

Based on the finalized design, we create a clear scope of work that will be used in contractors tender. We help the client make the decision in awarding contractors and subcontractors for the design execution.

02 MATERIALS AND DRAWINGS

Our team helps the contractors and subcontractors to source and select all necessary materials in accordance to the design. We also check to-build drawings, give feedback and find solutions in case of any necessary changes in the design.

03 DESIGN GUARDIANSHIP

Our team oversees the construction and provides regular reports to the client on the design execution progress. We try to make sure that the contractors and subcontractors follow and understand the design intent and execute it up to our standards.

The Process - FF&E Phase

01 FF&E SELECTION

Based on the finalized design and budget, we procure the perfect combination of furnishings and fixtures to make the design come to life. The selection is approved and signed off by the client.

02 PURCHASING

Once the funds are received, our team places the orders and creates a tracking schedule for deliveries.

03 RECEIVING AND ARRANGING

Our team makes makes all necessary arrangement to receive the furniture deliveries, checks and quality and updates the client on status. Once all the construction works are done, we deliver the furniture on site, unpack and arrange it according to the approved furniture layout.

The Process - Styling and Handover Phase

02 HANDOVER

When all is done, we make sure client is happy with their new home. Our team prepares our branded Leila Khalil Design binder with all the information about the project and hand it over to the client for future references. Our work is done. Until the next time.

01 STYLING AND PHOTOSHOOT

This is our favorite part of the process, when the vision finally came to life. We use the retainer amount to purchase all accessories and art and style for the photoshoot and for living.
